My Story
About My Art & Studio
My fabric collage art breathes vibrant life into recycled materials and celebrates the strong men and women who have made dynamic contributions to their cultures. Multiple layers of treated and aged fabrics along with recycled embellishments dazzle the eye and speaks to the heart through skilled composition and a desire to honor the memories of the past. Each piece tells a story and is individually crafted with great attention to detail, texture, depth and color.
Along with my 84 year old mother, Betty Nichols, who helps with the sewing and designing of each piece, I scour yard sales, craft fairs, antique and thrift stores for the perfect embellishments. Vintage drapes, lace, clothing, belts, jewelry and even discarded wedding dresses are just a few examples of the recycled materials that you will find on each piece.
Custom subjects and pieces are available upon request.
